❛ no–no, layne, you didn’t meant to, that’s all that matter, things like this-they happen to everyone, it’s not your fault– ❜ he mutters, speaking quickly, adrenaline coursing violently through his veins. he extends a hand, palm bared to layne, as he takes slow, easy steps towards his partner. magic was a tricky thing–very difficult for him to understand but, he understood enough to know that how layne felt influenced his magical powers, often beyond his own control.
jordan still advanced, until his shaking hands wrapped around the man’s wrists, pulling those hands down, holding tightly onto layne, fearing that perhaps he might vanish from right in front of him if he didn’t hold on. ❛ baby look at me–look at me! it’s okay–it was an accident, just, an accident, it doesn’t mean anything, i’m not mad–it’s fine, it’ll be fine– ❜ he was rambling, because he was frightened this mishap would be what broke them apart–&& he didn’t want that, he wanted to live, love, be, with layne. for as long as he possibly could, until his body turned to dust; he wanted to love layne.

though he didn’t watch as the other walked closer to him, he didn’t tense or pull back when he felt hands on his wrist. jordan shouldn’t be telling him things were alright - he should be mad. he should be furious, really. that should be the initial reaction to getting hit by anything in a fit of anger. pile more on top because you just can’t believe it. lips press together as he finally looked up to his lover. he could see the welt from being hit by the paperweight and knew it would turn nasty with time. one hand was pulled away from his grasp and he placed it along the other’s injured cheek. with enough power, he was able to heal the wound before it would get the chance to become worse. his hand was pulled back after and he pulled away. “ you should be mad. even though i didn’t mean to, that could have been avoided. ”
