       “Black decaf, gotcha.”

into his wallet once more. He bit at his lip - he
wouldn’t have been spending the money if he hadn’t
run into the man’s table. But there was nothing he
could do - he felt bad enough, it would only make
him feel worse about himself to say that he couldn’t
afford to buy a damn cup of coffee.

        “No - no - I got it. It ain’t a big deal. Gimme a
minute and I’ll be right back with that, yeah?”

with him for just a coffee, but the anger was still there.
Once that flare rose up, it was hard for him to tamper
it down. The only thing the moment was giving him
was a chance to practice acting as if he could let it
roll off his shoulders. Shaking his head, he waved his
hand in front as if to further show his decision.

It’s fine. You really don’t have to.
