Sure… Hey Layne watch out for the grif… probably that’s how far I would’ve got before you screwed this up for us. “

But Lambert was considering his suggestion. It would definitely be easier to just take down one griffin if they waited a little and one might actually destroy the other. With just one of them for each griffin could be dangerous… especially if they decide to ally against just one witcher at a time.

Tell you what… bet who wins? Gambling is always a great way to pass the time. I bet you, 50 Crowns that the one with the darker feathers will obliterate the other one. Also if I win you can buy me a new pair of gloves…

He reached into his pouch and counted out the money on a rock.

Are you matching or raising? “

Griffins up ahead’ would have worked better and with fewer words, ya fuckin’ dunce.

ANYTHING other than the grab and the hand over his mouth. He didn’t even want to test licking his lips to see if there was any residue of shit from the damn leather. But any further complaints would be saved for later as a wager was made. A glance back over towards the griffins gave him enough information to make the wager fair.

Or, at least, for him to know that raising wouldn’t be the smartest idea. He’d rather lose 50 crowns than any more and the darker griffin was the bigger one. But when was he to really judge on size? the smaller ones always managed to be faster.

I’ll match. And if the smaller one wins, you’re getting me a new dagger.

He took out the crowns and placed them on the rock as well.
