Brandt gives the stranger a once-over, not exactly thanking him for the takedown. Now it’s technically illegal  ( not that Brandt’s been concerned about such things in the past; he knows his way around the law )  he still doesn’t like the idea of a civilian getting involved. He huffs, and helps the guy he was chasing down get up, giving him an I’ll find you later look. Which is really all it takes for him to take off running again.

Whatever. Brandt was was starting to get sick of chasing him all over town.

‘ Not a cop, man. You’re lucky he’ll probably be too scared to sue. ‘

And who would he sue? I’m just a face in the crowd that knocked him down.

It wasn’t like his name was plastered on his forehead. Not like the man could have been able to find him to sue him if he wanted to. Even if he tried, it felt good to hit something. It was almost therapeutic to him. Plus, he’d be lying if he said he didn’t have fun doing so. The regret would come later, though. Or at least a shadow of it. A slight grin was tossed to the other and he shrugged his shoulders once. Hands stuffed into his pockets and he stepped towards the man.

So why were you chasing a guy like that down? And then just let him go after you’ve got him?
