“Pleasure to meet you, Layne.”, charming. That’s what he’d have to be right now and that’s what he was without any trouble. He gestured at the free bar stool right next to Layne before he smiled; not waiting for an answer but already taking a seat. After all, the guy had agreed to share a drink with him and the way he looked at connor, it was obvious he was hooked.

Sure, Connor might not exactly feel like his usual self at the moment, especially with Michaela’s ring missing and the news about a found ring but he had to play his role in this game if he wanted to win some time, and…He did.

“Tell me something about you, Layne. What’s there to know about you other than that you have a great taste and look amazing.”, that wasn’t a lie. Any other time, Connor might have considered this guy lucky enough to have some fun with him. Sure, he seemed to be short. But…Connor knew never to underestimate the short ones. (After all, he himself, wasn’t the tallest guy around, either, and he’d made men made of BRICKS fall to their knees before.)

Likewise. He gave a nod as the other gestured towards the empty stool. It didn’t need to be said that he was allowed to sit there. Connor was going to be treating him to another beer anyway so it would be rude to say no. As well as contradictory to having welcomed the offer in the first place. Another swig was taken from the bottle before he set it down, almost finished at this point. Still, he’d take his time.

A toothy grin tugged at his lips when he was asked to talk about himself. The compliment did not go unheeded and added a bit of a boost to his ego. Layne didn’t consider himself vain in any way - just aware of his finer qualities. He was glad to know the other appreciated it as well.

Well, compliments like that are a way to get on my good side - the grin slipped to a smirk for only a moment, - and I never turn down a drink from a handsome man. But other than the obvious, there’s not much that might be too interesting. I’m an artist, I teach at the high school for creative and performing arts, and I love horror books and movies. And though I’m not a fan of needles, I’ve got two sets of tattoos on me. Nothing of real importance to have been said but they were the first things to come to mind. They were decent enough to break break the ice further between them. What about you?
